About the Artist
Deitsh Dave Music is a songwriting project devoted to the Pennsylvania Dutch language — a tongue carried across the Atlantic generations ago and still spoken in the hills, farms, and kitchens of Pennsylvania and Ohio today. Every song here is written in Deitsh, keeping its rhythms and expressions alive through melody.
The music draws from the landscape and heritage of the Pennsylvania Dutch — its barns, its songs, its plain-spoken humor, and the quiet poetry of everyday work. Whether a ballad or a lively tune, each piece is meant to honor the language while inviting new listeners in.
